Dancing - One Body Part at a Time!



Dance to the music using one body part at a time!



Play some fun dance music.



Music Ideas:

Jazz

Pop

Hip Hop

Children’s music such as The Wiggles



Listen to the rhythm.



Now begin dancing to the music.



As your child is dancing call out a body part and have her move only that body part while dancing to the music!





Idea list of body parts:

Finger

Hand

Knee

Face

Shoulder

Leg

Toe

Arm

Head




While everyone is having a lot of fun, this exercise will strengthen so many learning skills!

  1. These are great ideas! I will have to try all the body movements with my daughters - we have music on all the time, so this will add to our dance parties :)

  3. What a fun twist on an already fun activity. It's been awhile since my kids and I have cut loose and danced together. Thanks for the inspiration. You're never too old to be silly. I hope my ten year old son agrees. I hope he will still join in the fun. We used to dance together a lot.

    1. Sometimes it is hard to get those preteens to act goofy! But it has never stopped me. :) In fact it drives me to be even more goofy!
